As a part of Dorchester Collection, 45 Park Lane will act in a manner founded on fair treatment of our people, responsiveness to the needs of our guests, environmental responsibility, ethical business practice, and by making a positive contribution to local communities.  45 Park Lane has been considering corporate responsibility issues from the start; in the hotels’ design, in our chosen partners, and in the way the hotel will be managed once open in 2011.

This is evident in the redesign of the current concrete façade to incorporate eco-friendly fins, which will diminish solar gain to the building and significantly reduce the power required to run the air conditioning system. Further environmental benefits will be gained by sharing resources and initiatives with The Dorchester such as a ‘Turbo Cor Compressor’ and a CHP boiler.  These services will be carried through a specially built underground tunnel running between the properties that measures 3.5 metres in diameter, 10 metres deep and 120 metres long.  The tunnels dimensions are a result of our efforts to weave around the roots of the plane tree, one of London’s Great Trees (source: Time Out) on The Dorchester’s forecourt.

It is also evident in our partnership with Wolfgang Puck who will open CUT at 45 Park Lane, his first restaurant in Europe, with the hotel’s opening.  Central to all of Wolfgang Puck’s endeavours is his ‘Wolfgang’s Eat, Love, Live ™’ (WELL) philosophy.  This stands for culinary passion for eating and dining WELL, which means a commitment to provide food made with only the freshest and most natural and organic ingredients available, to celebrate local farmers and seasonal ingredients, and to use only humanely raised animal products.
